My boyfriend, who’s played by Jordan Woods-Robinson, and I met as often as we could before we shot that scene and tried our best to get to know each other on a personal level. Before the apocalypse, he was trained in martial arts along with escapology. The series never strayed away from its diversity, going on to introduce several gay survivors who would quickly go on to become fan favorites, but series co-creator and writer Robert Kirkman planned an earlier introduction for the series' leap to diverse new characters.
The first openly gay character introduced within The Walking Dead comic series is Aaron, an experienced recruiter for Virginia's Alexandria Safe Zone community.
She was a journalist who would interview people and document their stories. So, today, we have tried our best to bring to you Ross’ opinion on Aaron and his thoughts on dating and marriage. Aaron, being his boyfriend, was/is extremely protective of Eric.
When Ross was asked about their relationship on-screen and off-screen, he answered:
“It’s been a great deal of responsibility to do it justice with respect not only to our gay fan base but to the viewers in general.
But he was not ready to get married until he makes up his career.
Althea:
Althea or Al, portrayed by Maggie Grace, was introduced in the fourth season of Fear the Walking Dead. During the apocalypse, he was a recruiter and supply runner for the Hilltop Colony, also training kids with martial arts, a good skill to have during a zombie apocalypse.
She’s been to some rough places which really ended up shaping her as a person. Martinez had already gained a reputation among readers as one of The Governor's chief enforcers who was stationed at the community wall.
Eric Raleigh:
Eric, portrayed by Jordan-Woods Robinson, was the boyfriend of Aaron and also a recruiter for Alexandria.
Connie, her sister, is completely deaf so Kelly, who is partially deaf, and her family learned ASL to better communicate with her. It's poetic that two of the series' most fan-favorite and persevering gay characters, Paul and Aaron, would end the series as lovers. Though Aaron appeared out of nowhere after a storm of monsters, people were both surprised and fascinated.
After Ross became part of the hit horror drama, he was interviewed and asked how he felt playing a gay character.
(However, spoiler alert: that ship hit rock bottom in the midseason finale.)
Reedus sounded off on the speculation surrounding his fan-favorite character's sexuality in an interview with GQ, referencing a conversation he had with the series' original showrunner Frank Darabont. The characters do their best to survive and avoid any other conflicts, such as zombies or other people.

The actor spoke with the DailyBeast and told his fans what they can expect from him and his love interest Eric. Al is said to have been made for the apocalypse because of who she was before the apocalypse started.
"I do have to clear something up, though: in the letter column of the comic book that I do, I mentioned that there was a possibility early on about making Daryl Dixon's character gay."
Of course, this lead to a massive online reaction.
