After some great adventures in Argentina, I moved in 2017 to the metropolitan city of Buenos Aires. This center encourages reflection and debate with its “Cinema and Future Cycle”: an event to watch a film and discuss it with the invited guest, who chooses the movie, to think about how the years ahead will unfold.

Additionally, JJ Cultural Circuit hosts a philosophy book fair with publishers like Adriana Hidalgo, Biblos, and Caja Negra.

You’ll find in Buenos Aires an incredible openness and a 24/7 LGBT scene fueled by a huge range of pubs, cultural centres, designer bars, terraces, parks and nightclubs where freedom of expression reigns supreme. From parties and art exhibitions to bars, fairs, concerts, and inclusive cultural centers, here are the best plans to honor diversity in every corner of the city.

Been there, done that?

From drag shows to underground techno clubs, there’s something for everyone.
Some of the must-visit spots include:

  • Pride Café in San Telmo, a relaxed place to start your evening with cocktails and tapas
  • Peuteo in Palermo, a popular meeting point with drag performances and themed nights
  • Feliza in Almagro, known for inclusive parties and live music
  • Plop!

You can take part in myriad special events like Buenos Aires Diversa, the International Queer Tango Festival and the pride parade, and you can even get married! So, get ready for a week of magical gay festivities in the attractive city of Buenos Aires.

    Pride Parade (Marcha del Orgullo)

The parade starts in front of Argentina's "pink house", the Casa Rosada governmental palace in Plaza de Mayo, with live music and a diversity fair before the parade heads to the National Congress building.

Buenos Aires Pride

The first pride march started in 1992, led by Carlos Jáuregui, with a small group of marchers, and how has it grown!

It is a political statement, a reminder of how far Argentina has come and how much more there is to fight for.

History of the Marcha del Orgullo

The first Pride March in Buenos Aires took place in 1992. to 5 a.m.

The schedule and special events are announced through their Instagram account, and it’s recommended to arrive early.

However, due to road closures, it’s better to walk a few blocks away from the main route before calling a ride.

You can also rent a city bike using the BA Ecobici system — perfect for moving between events if you plan to visit different parts of the city during Pride week.

Safety

Large events naturally draw big crowds, so take the usual precautions.

So pack your most fabulous outfits, grab your friends, and get ready to join the party of the year in one of the world's most beautiful cities. Go enjoy this club that beats strong.

Fun fact: this year it celebrated two decades and paid tribute to the icons who passed through, with a dress full of their faces.

Sharing my discoveries in Buenos Aires. Today, it’s a tradition for the LGBTTTIQ+ community that gathers thousands for the Pride March every November. They don’t hold back.

Yacarés BA just celebrated its 5th anniversary as a social, sports, inclusive, and diverse space.

Argentina was one of the first countries in the region to legalise same-sex marriage back in 2010 and has since expanded rights for trans and non-binary citizens.
