No problem - spectators are warmly welcomed at all events. Held every four years, the Gay Games are open to all participants over 18 years old, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, or physical ability.
Founded in 1982 by Olympic athlete Tom Waddell, the Gay Games celebrate athletic excellence and human connection through openness and inclusivity.
València is located in Spain - which boasts some of the most progressive human rights law, especially for LGBTQ+ people, in the world - and sits incredible well connected in southern Europe. Furthermore, its a great destination for tourism before or after attending the Gay Games.

The 12th edition of the Gay Games is coming to Valencia
Equality, diversity and inclusion will come to Valencia through sport and culture thanks to the 2026 Valencia Gay Games.
The Games are an international sporting and cultural event that is held every four years and is founded on participation, inclusion and the best personal performance.
Sports at the 12th edition of the Gay Games
The 2026 edition will feature more than 30 sports disciplines including water sports, track and field, badminton, basketball, fencing, and more, as well as local sports such as colpbol or Valencian pelota.
Cultural events of the 2026 Gay Games
Music will play a leading role at the Valencia Gay Games with band and choir festivals.

We are incredibly excited to invite you all to València, Spain in the summer of 2026 to enjoy our next Gay Games event.
Whilst preparations are still underway for the event, a few things are already confirmed - that València is an excellent choice for you to visit and enjoy the Gay Games.
