He came back at the end of the previous season. It really feels like we unleash them to just be their natural horny selves. Hulu really supported us, and so did 20th, to do a show nobody's ever seen before... They're so in love that they change the trajectory of the Earth's orbit so that their honeymoon can last a couple of days longer.

We like carrying that stuff along, but our bread and butter is really the Solars themselves. We love telling stories about them being in love and being chaotic and everything else is kind of like cream on top. I know our fans are the real deal. Those kinds of stories really feel like Solar Opposites to me. I've lived with that for a year, because we've been making the show for a year.

They essentially treat the replicants as their children.

That being said, the two heads of the family don't appear to be in a romantic relationship, at least not throughout the eight episodes of Season 1. Both stories end in places that set up really cool stuff in Season 6.

The Wall story in Season 5 leads to a really epic Season 6 Wall story. Getting to do that and see it play out is just awesome. Meet the "baby" of the family!

There's a fifth important member of the family. We do so much with Season 5, so I'm excited for everyone to see it.

Solar Opposites Season 5 is now streaming on Hulu.

we didn't want to just do a different cover song of what Rick and Morty does.

Getting that gang all together is such a freaking blast. As far as being a gay couple, it doesn't seem like they have something beyond a platonic relationship. Since they landed on Earth, essentially, the Pupa is a ticking time bomb, about to destroy Earth at any moment.

Although Solar Opposites revolves around a family, they're not exactly an average family — and not just because they're all from the planet Shlorp.

(2020-) is a Hulu animated series about two aliens, their replicants, and their pupa,  who flee from their doomed planet and crash-land on Earth.  During Season 1, showrunner Justin Roiland addressed the question of whether male adults Korvo (Justin Roiland, Dan Stevens, left) and Terry (Thomas Middleditch) were a gay couple.  He said that since their species practices asexual reproduction, they don't have sex, and therefore they can't be gay.

Apparently he changed his mind.  The fan wiki states that Korvo and Terry became a romantic couple between Seasons 1 and 2.  But how romantic are they?  Do they say anything?  Do anything?  Or do you have to just infer from gay subtexts?

We did one where The Wall story starts, and it takes over completely.

I think what's really special about this show [is] it's got two husbands that are leads of an animated family. Nobody else is doing that. Our show is about a gay couple who are immigrants who are living in America, and that's the most normal thing about the show. I'm really happy that people have found it.

When you're making an animated show, you don't all get to hang out all the time. Though the whole family are out as aliens in the town they crash-landed in, they adapt into a typical suburban family. Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, Natalie Morales, Jerry O'Connell and Beck Bennett will guest star.

"This character called The Dude was a big deal the first couple seasons and is played by Alfred Molina.

My 10-year-old son, who plays the Pupa, has never been allowed to watch Solar Opposites because it's so dirty, and they make us bleep a bunch of it.
